‘Nothing to say’
20 – 22 December
at Jackson Lane, as part of the London International Mime Festival in London
‘Nothing to say’ is a show of poetic, humour. Without words. Leandre Ribera is one of Europe’s most successful clown actors and a star of the international outdoor performance and street festival circuit. Nothing To Say was winner of both the 2014 Barcelona City Circus and Catalunia Circus awards. Since being specially re-directed for indoor theatre performance it has delighted audiences across Europe once again. Enchanting and suitable for all ages.
SYNOPSIS
A staging with four pieces of furniture and a door. A home in front of the audience. Without walls. A house full of vacant spaces, with holes open to the absurd, visited by imaginary spectators. A single character surrounded by presences and imbalances. A time stopped at a frantic pace, with ghosts in the wardrobe, flying socks, raining umbrellas, playful mirrors, elusive lamps, surprise packages, telepathic pianos, silent music. Nonsense. Demons. Dreams. A dream house to share loneliness and emotions. Here and now.
Jackson Lane is the flagship arts and cultural venue in Haringey, creating a year-round programme that encompasses the best in contemporary performance, arts participation, cultural education and outreach work for both its community and the sector as a whole.
London International Mime Festival (LIMF) was founded in 1977 by producer, Joseph Seelig, and mime-clown, Nola Rae. It is the Capital’s longest established international theatre season. Taking place each January, its programme spans the spectrum of contemporary visual performance including live art, physical and circus-theatre, mask, puppetry, movement and object theatre. You can read more about the festival’s history in a free online book, to be published as part of LIMF’17.
