Halcyon Gallery
Halcyon Gallery presents a new exhibition by contemporary Spanish artist, Pedro Paricio, Paricio – Picasso. Over two years in the making, this seminal exhibition sees Paricio take up the gauntlet through new paintings, sculptures, works on paper and print, that are both a dialogue with and a homage to one of the greatest artists in history, Pablo Picasso. Paricio takes his inspiration from David Sylvester’s provocation: ‘Picasso is the one to beat, Picasso is the fastest gun in the West, the one every budding gunfighter has to beat to the draw in order to prove himself’ (David Sylvester, About Modern Art: Critical Essays, 1948-1996, 1997)
Halcyon Gallery presents In One Breath, an exhibition of new work by contemporary artist Ernesto Cánovas.

Pedro Paricio, Dreams
6 – 25 September 2016
Contemporary Spanish artist, Pedro Paricio, presents ‘Dreams‘, his forthcoming exhibition at Halcyon Gallery, London. This brand new body of work is part of an exploration into self-reflection, the collective subconscious and the transcendental nature of art.
On 25 February 2016, contemporary Spanish artist, Ernesto Cánovas, will present ‘Multiplied’, his forthcoming exhibition at Halcyon Gallery, London. This brand new series of work uses large scale mix-media on wood panel painting as part of Cánovas’ ongoing exploration into cinema, abstraction and found imagery.
Suited and booted, the artist Pedro Paricio looks like he’s come straight out of a scene from Reservoir Dogs. Born in 1982 in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, he is young, talented and now successful too. After working dozens of different jobs in pursuit of realising his dream of painting, he now lives off his art. And he lives well, at that.
Halcyon Gallery doesn’t look like your regular West End galleries. It is huge and palatial, with high ceilings and polished marble, like the house of a classier Tony Montana. As I entered I wondered just when exactly would they sniff out I didn’t belong there and kindly invite me to remove myself from the premises. They never did, of course, instead they were quite welcoming and they even took my jacket and fed me.
